The Unit of Legislation and Public Politics of OTD Chile organized four important talks to inform and educate people during the month of pride. The first one is calledTransfeminist answers for TERF discourses and it will be broadcasted on our youtube chanel this friday, June 26th at 15:00hrs (Chile), with the participation of Carla Antonelli, Siobhan Guerrero and Mauro Cabral
OTD Chile and the Gender Department from the Diego Portales University (UDP) organized the talk Can we talk about pride nowadays? Along with the lawyers and activists Constanza Valdés, Matías Valenzuela and Claudio Barrientos, history teacher from UDP. The transmission will be Thursday June 25th at 18:00hrs on the account Zoom of the Department and our Youtube Channel OTD Chile Association.
On June 9th, 2020 since the covid-19 pandemic started, I went to work and as everybody else I got checked because the region where I live was under quarantine. I was carrying my documents and safe-conduct so everything should be fine. It should have been as any other check. But because I was a trans person and migrant it wasn’t. My ID Card, safe-conduct, passport and legal documents DO NOT IDENTIFY ME.

In the pandemic Covid-19, from OTD, Chile we decided to continue providing our services to the trans community in terms of psychologic attentions, accompainment between peers, and the trans encounter group (Grupo de encuentro, GET) which are being carried out online. Also our Education, Legislation and Public Policies, Health, Communications, Mapadres and Investigation units are working remotely to keep supporting the trans community and their families.
The OTD Chile Unit of Health , coordinated by the psychologist Leonel Catoni announced useful information about trans health during the Covid-10 pandemic in Chile for the trans and non-binary community
OTD Chile participated and organized the bloc of the LGTBIG+ community at the meeting that was held this Monday 27th January along with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in relation to the visit in loco carried out in Chile, so in this way they can expound the Human Rights violations against women and the sexual diversities and dissidences in the country.
