OTD Chile meets with Minsal to discuss the accompaniment according to the Gender Identity Law

(Santiago, January 17, 2020).- OTD Chile, together with other organizations achieved the first meeting with the Ministry of Health (Minsal) to discuss the operation of accompaniment for those over 14 and under 18 according to the Gender Identity Law, where our Coordinator of the Health Unit, Leonel Catoni, community psychologist and trans activist participated.

 

In this way, Minsal commits to providing resources to Gender Identity Law programs, updating the clinical pathway working on the schedule of the health benefits to be covered, which have a great importance for the trans community.

 Catoni hopes these commitments to be fulfilled this year for the accompaniment, which must be soon since in December 27 the law came into effect, as well as the health of trans people, which is a human right that the State of Chile must ensure and cover.
