Transfest OTD Chile

It was the first festival for the human rights of transgender people held in Chile in October 2015, as part of the commemoration of the month for the depathologization of trans identities. It was held in the Balmaceda Park, commune of Providencia. In October 2017 a second version was made in the commune of Recoleta. A third version was being coordinated for 2019 but had to be suspended because of the social explosion that occurred in October of that year.

 

TRANSFEST sought to generate a public intervention that would bring together the transgender community, human rights organizations, artists and the general public to demonstrate and reflect on how the oppressions of the binary gender system affect the human rights of trans people.
