Gender re-transit

Glossary

Gender re-transit

It’s when a person who transited gender once, transits gender again. It may be to return to the gender identity you had before or to acquire a new gender identity. Some people indicate that when a transgender person returns to the identity assigned to him at birth, he would be de-transitioning, But we do not share this view because it has a negative burden that seeks to frighten those who want to travel gender and has been imposed by anti-transgender rights groups. The concept of transiting also does not consider that the past cannot be erased, therefore someone who transited once cannot eliminate the fact of having transited gender. That is why the concept of re-transiting gender is much more descriptive. In itself re-transiting gender is not something negative and there are people who do it frequently as people gender fluid. One should not confuse re-transiting gender with issues of medical treatments and surgeries. The latter correspond to the field of gender expression, they have nothing to do with being transgender or cisgender. Therefore, anyone who wants to undergo treatments and surgeries must first consult with health professionals with experience in the subject and know all the impacts that these interventions have on health in the short, medium and long term.
